Proteomics Fundamentals

In the Q-OmicS Lab, we are deeply immersed in the fascinating realm of fundamental proteomics. Our lab uses mass spectrometry data acquisition methods to identify and quantify the proteins. Modern computational techniques can analyze mass spectrometry output and generate protein/peptide results for the associated spectra. Interpretation of these data helps us to work on different aspects of the proteome, such as protein identification, quantification, and post-translational modifications. We are working on the biological implications of changes in protein concentrations and post-translational modifications.

Furthermore, a significant part of our work entails validation and assessment of the output of proteomic tools to ensure their accuracy and reliability. We use statistical tools to make sense of the massive amounts of proteomic data we generate. This leads us to extract meaningful insights and contribute to the ever-changing landscape of proteomic research.
